ABOUT

PhillyCAM is a community media center that brings together the people of Philadelphia to make and share media that promotes creative expression, democratic values, and civic participation. We distribute content on our cable television channels (Comcast 66/966 & Verizon 29/30) and on WPPM FM Radio, 106.5, as well as via our online platforms. It’s a vibrant community media center that connects people of all ages to learning opportunities to become creators, not consumers, of high-quality media.

PhillyCAM is a hub for youth media makers and youth-serving organizations. Young people in PhillyCAM’s afterschool program engage in media literacy and production centered activities to develop their critical thinking skills, gain confidence, and learn to work collaboratively while acquiring important technical and life skills. Youth create content for television and radio addressing topics such as applying to college, coming out, voting, and toxic masculinity. All youth work is shared on PhillyCAM’s cable and radio outlets.
